How to Grate Coconut

I'm always looking for tools to help me in the kitchen. Especially with the coconut. I've never tried to remove the meat from inside the coconut before. I was frustrated and tried almost everything to grate the meat into tiny shreds of coconut.

I found a unique tool on Amazon I wanted to share with you. This was a huge game-changer and very cheap to use. I paid $6.99 plus tax for this coconut grater. The teeth are on all three sides of the contraption. Getting to the sides of the coconut was extremely easy. I was able to grate about 2 cups with one coconut.

Also, the stainless steel grater is also part knife. After breaking the coconut, you can pull the shell away from the meat.

The best deal is the delivery. Amazon has the coconut grater on Prime. I was able to receive this piece the next day.

If you're a fan of coconut cake or anything coconut, this is the best contraption to pull the meat off and grate. Plus it's very cheap.

The end result of this contraption was amazing. You can check out this recipe here.

I'm a wife and mother to three children. Born and raised as a farm girl in the small town of Greenbrier, Tennessee, I loved spending time with Mammie (grandmother). That's where my love for cooking started, right at her farm table which launched into cast iron skillet cooking later as a young adult.

Today, I love to blog, restore, cook, and treasure hunt for cast iron skillets. Be sure to check back in often because you'll always find something new to enjoy!
