The other day I was preparing to make dinner and realized that I was completely out of bread crumbs. In a panic, I decided to Google bread crumb recipes. I was astonished to see how easy it was to make bread crumb seasoning recipes. Luckily I had all the ingredients but wasn't sure if the taste would compliment my seasoned fish recipe.
Thankfully the seasoned bread crumb recipe turned out great and so did my seasoned fish.
This recipe will give you around 4 cups of homemade bread crumbs. Bread crumbs can be stored in the fridge for 1 month in an airtight container or for three months in a freezer. I haven't used the freezer option because I cook every day and go through so many ingredients at home.
Here's the recipe:
Seasoned Bread Crumbs
7 slices toasted bread
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teasppon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon or more dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon or more dried rosemary
Toast the bread on a darker setting. Crumble the pieces up two at a time and place in a blender until crumbly.
Place all the bread crumbs in a large bowl and hand mix all the seasonings.
Place in a large gallon plastic bag, and shake. Place in fridge.
