Jarlsberg Cheese Dip

Every Thursday at Kroger, my kids and I go to see the "cheese lady." She lets him sample a cheese of his choosing. One Thursday my eight-year-old picked one and it was an instant hit. The cheese he selected was Jarlsberg. The cheese lady told us about a dip we could make using Jarlsberg cheese and gave us a list of ingredients to buy. Only 4 ingredients!

This recipe is very quick to make and not expensive.

I made the dip and before I could actually serve the dip for dinner, the kids and husband helped themselves to a pre-dinner snack.

Here's the recipe:

  • 1 cup Jarlsberg cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayo (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup red onion
  • Ritz crackers

Grate the cheese.....

and then the onion.

Place cheese and onion in bowl and stir together.

Stir in mayo and combine well with cheese and onion mixture. Taste will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Spread mixture on to Ritz cracker.

Take the dip to a secret location and eat your feelings out. It's totally normal to eat dip in your closet and not feel bad about it.

This recipe is one of my favorites to make, very quick and affordable. Especially during the football season.

Hey, ya'll! I'm Maggie Stamper founder and blogger of Old Time Cast Iron. Thanks for joining me and allowing me to share some of my favorite memories, recipes, and finds with you.

I'm a wife and mother to three children. Born and raised as a farm girl in the small town of Greenbrier, Tennessee, I loved spending time with Mammie (grandmother). That's where my love for cooking started, right at her farm table which launched into cast iron skillet cooking later as a young adult.

Today, I love to blog, restore, cook, and treasure hunt for cast iron skillets. Be sure to check back in often because you'll always find something new to enjoy!
